The filter system Marin 500 is designed for use inside of the aquarium. It consists of a filter tank with the dimensions 48 x 18,5 x 48 cm (19" x 7,5" x 19"). Via a surface overflow and pre filter sponge, the water comes to the protein skimmer (Midiflotor). From here, the water is pumped to a trickle filter with Bactoballs for biological filtration and to a Nitratereductor.. A second pump with capacity of 1.000 Liter/Hr (250 gph) pumps the water back to the aquarium. With the Marin 500, existing aquariums can be transferred into powerful seawater tanks without any plumbing or interruptions into the glass.
